Just talking to my dad about Youtube and about how some of the violence is apparently back in this country (although it's probably not the right time to actually check out the videos - I'll do it when I've woken myself up a bit.) A hand grenade thrown in a civic building in the Ukraine and a biker shootout.

I'll tell you how the conversation went.

You read children fairytales to EDUCATE them. If I was really as thick or as bad as they made me look I'd be in a lot of trouble right now. I'm in the right and I checked everything outside of this police state. If you want a kid who will be a problem or have problems don't read them proper fairytales. YOU OF COURSE need to discuss what happened or should have happened and maybe read a happy version afterward after discussing the tale with the child. In some pressings they have multiple versions including a happily ever after one. It's kind of the point. When my mum read me fairytales I'd get upset, did they really die? What if the witch was too fat to get out of the pot? I'd talk about EVERYTHING. And my mum really cared. We'd even talk about it walking to the shops the next day. I'd be worried or excited for the characters and my clever mum would work out a way for everything to be ok for them Of course this taught me how to survive as a child as well.
